Can I grow moonflowers in window boxes?


I just purchases Moonflower seeds and am growing them indoors first in a mini greenhouse. I will transplant them into window boxes I have outside, but they are about 6 and 1/2 inches deep, and about 2 feet long. Is that enough space for them to grow properly?

Is there a plant or two different species of plants that grow quite small and you can plant in a trough planter with other plants? I need one that adds some height to the overall image of the trough.

How can I stop birds taking the fibers from the new liners in my hanging baskets??!?


I have just repotted all wall and hanging baskets on my balcony – they are lined with coco trough liners but i have just noticed that there is a constant stream of birds attacking them – obviously taking the fibers for their nests!
