Is landscaping a good job to get into?

I was thinking of working on my own doing landscaping like planting mowing edging etc. Can I make decent income / like how much can I make doing this. Or is it not a good investment.
Keep in mind I am not a landscaper arcitec just basic knowledge Is all I know and in time I will take classes to move up my knowledge. Just wanna know what could I start off making and is it a good investment.
By the way I am from Southern California.

I agree with a previous answer in the sense that we don’t know where you are from. I am a landscape designer, with a degree from Penn State in the field. It is rough right now for most companies. As the boss you can expect to work crazy hours. There are a lot of cost that many don’t think about such as insurance, equipment purchases/rentals, and overhead. Make sure you really think about the pros and cons. Two years ago, you would make great money, now not so much but again…thats pretty much everyone. I do not envy my boss, it is hard work owning a company where customers thinks they can get it done for next to nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my job. It’s just a hard time be getting into the field. If you really love it, then go for it.

  1. yes
it’s hard work,so you do not have to diet
it’s outside, so you do not need to go to a tanning salon
it’s physical labor, so you do not have to go to a gym
seriously though, i’ve done it all my life and it is a good job

i think we can not answer this question very well because we are not in your area .you must search your area to see are people interested in landscaping ? are they interested to pay you for your job or they like to do every things personally ?what things they like in their yards or gardens ? and about their (your future clients) income you must see who much is income in your area ? can people pay you ? this questions must be answered by you because we live in different countries and different area .for a example must of people in our area won’t pay much money for this jobs .new families like to live in apartments and new woman’s like to sit in home or walk in streets and look to cloth stories and mans work full time with low income and they don’t have place or time for landscaping so this job won’t work here . check your area and then choice .always don’t forgot best and biggest advertising is your good job and people will order you again .
    good luck
    go with God
