Solar Outdoor Lights Showing Off Your Landscape
Careful, creative landscaping can make your home or business stand out in a positive way from surrounding areas. Landscaping all by itself can be a simple, attractive enhancement to any business, home or structure. It will only be visible during the daylight hours though. This is a very short time in the winter especially.
By adding landscape lighting, you will be able to show off your landscape in the evenings and at night to show the elegance of your home, business, and plants. Plants, trees and palms can be the draw attention at night when spotlighted or flooded with light. There are plenty of options for dramatic lighting. The following information will explain just some of the options.
To mark a pathway, a couple options are embedded lights or small low voltage landscape path lights. You can spotlight small plants and light large plants with a floodlight. Larger ponds or water features can be lit with floodlights. The borders of the bond can be lit much like the edge of a pathway.
Using colored lights can create interesting moods in your landscape. You can choose colors to remain all the time, or have alternating colors on a loop. You’d be surprised how different your plants will look under different color lights.
You don’t have to only light the base of trees and bushes. Lighting the top of them will showcase their full beauty. You can even light things with strobes, but too much of this could be distracting.
You can power your lights with either a typical electric circuit or by the sun with solar powered outdoor lighting. You can use low voltage power or higher. (12 or 120 volts). Solar power will work very well if you live in a sunny areas like the southern states or southwest. You will be underpowered if you live somewhere that is often overcast.
There is not any one correct or perfect way to light a landscape. Make your own rules and get creative as you highlight the areas that you feel are the most important.
