Think about what type if use it will get and also try and decide what shade would best suit the surrounding colors. it’s also worth considering if the umbrella is going to be subject ot extreme condition or not, and to buy one that is most suitable.

You may want to buy an umbrella that comes with a protective cover. Or, you may already have a storage space set aside so that you can put the umbrella away when it is not being regularly used. Be sure to know the dimensions of this space when going out to make the purchase, so that you can buy one that will fit in this space.

Try and find a patio umbrella that is made from fade resistant material as prolonged exposure to the sunlight can quickly damage it. After going to all the trouble of finding the perfect umbrella, it would be a shame to have to start all over again!
